Steve started his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and still takes on bespoke commissions when it is called for.
Antique restoration is based just outside the York outer ring road just off the A64 near to the village of Huntington. Situated in a purpose built and centrally heated workshop, Steven Popple has been creating bespoke furniture for many years.
Equipped to work on all kinds of bespoke furniture projects from the very small to large projects. We have previously been commissioned to work on, secret doors, stair cases, side tables, wardrobes, dining tables, book cases and dressers to name but a few.
Bespoke furniture
We have worked for over 20 years now creating bespoke furniture. Jobs range from replicating an old classical piece of furniture or creating new modern pieces. We have even copied customers items to reinstate a pair where one half of the pair has been lost or they have become separated through inheritance.

We made this oak table to a customer's own design.

We made these two beds for an interior designer, both were designed to suit very large rooms, they were both over 6' wide and 6'6" long.
These seating units were made to a design that the customer had found in a magazine, we incorporated some storage under the cushions to maximise the use of the space.
These 3 tables have all been designed and manufactured with the customers requirements in mind.
We were asked to make a pair of demi lune tables as copies of a very good Georgian pair that belonged to a family member of the customer, so we borrowed one to copy and made a pair of copies, we only had one original so in the photos where there are more than one table some are the copies.
This pair of bedside cabinets were made for an interior designer in London.
